I was a divorce attorney for over 30 years in Orlando and handled divorce cases involving issues that divorcing couples took to court such as the custody and visitation of children of divorcing parents. Divorce clients I represented also fought over who got the marital home and how to divide the other assets such as retirement funds, bank accounts, cars, pets, and household contents. I saw in many divorce contests a large part of the family money spent by divorcing couples for the fees of divorce lawyers in the battle over child support and alimony.
As a Family Mediator Certified by the Supreme Court of Florida for the past 18 years, having mediated over 2000 divorce cases, I have learned that divorce by mediation is a much better way for divorcing couples to end their marriage.
I closed my divorce litigation office in 1997 to become a full time Family Mediator because I am convinced that mediation is a much better way. Divorcing couples using me as a Family Mediator can work out their Marital Settlement Agreement and have me help them prepare it and the other papers they need in Florida to obtain a divorce without attorneys in court for a mediator fee that is much less than the fees of two attorneys doing it.
Not only is a divorce by mediation much less expensive for the divorcing couple, it is quicker, private, confidential with no retainers required. The mediator fee is spread over the mediation sessions and Mastercard and Visa are accepted. I will quote the fee during the free telephone consultation I give in every case separately to the divorcing couple.
